Asbestos Management and Refurbishment or Demolition Surveys in Scotland

Asbestos survey scotland

We insist on carrying out surveys to the highest standard of thoroughness with meticulous attention to detail. We utilise advanced technologies and equipment, such as thermal imaging and endoscopes to acheive the most detailed inspection possible.

Management Surveys

The Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012) require that asbestos is managed in non-domestic premises.  From the management survey an asbestos register is created, which is used in combination with the management plan to prioritise the most dangerous asbestos first for removal or repair.  Failure to manage asbestos in your premises could leave you liable to prosecution by the HSE.

ARC and our associates can provide asbestos management surveys, We have extensive experience of commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, university, local authority and residential sectors.  Furthermore we can assist you with preparation and review of your management plan based on the findings of your survey.

Refurbishment / Demolition Surveys

Under Regulation 5 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012), asbestos present within the scope of works must be identified, if no assessment (refurbishment survey) has been carried out, then asbestos must be presumed to be present.  A management survey is not sufficient to enable any intrusive works into the fabric of the building (no matter how small).  If asbestos is disturbed, and you do not have an adequate refurbishment or demolition survey, you could face prosecution by the HSE if you instructed the works, and worse end up with a criminal record.

We provide refurbishment and demolition surveys.  We understand that refurbishment surveys in particular must cover the scope of works planned and we will not leave you with unanswered questions which may cause project delays.  Helpfully if asbestos has been identified, we can help you project manage removal works.

We also conduct re-inspection audits and condition monitoring, read more

The best way to protect yourself, your staff, and your business, and to avoid prosecution, is to get a proper survey carried out before work starts.
